Pokhara. Following the massive loss of life and property across the country caused by the sudden and devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River, three institutions from Pokhara have provided financial assistance to support the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.

The Autoways Pvt. Ltd. family, in collaboration with BULL Machines, India, has provided Rs. 2.5 million, Prativa Secondary School, Pokhara, has provided Rs. 1,111,111 through its institutional social responsibility initiative and contributions from its teachers and staff, while the Govinda–Kalawati Foundation has provided Rs. 500,000. A total of Rs. 4,111,111 contributed by the three institutions has been handed over to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

In the presence of Member of Parliament Dr. Dhananjaya Regmi, Institutions Chairman Narayan Paudel and Prativa Secondary School’s Principal Kiran Sapkota handed over the cheque equivalent to the amount to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle.

Expressing condolences to those who lost their lives in the floods and landslides, the institutions conveyed their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families. They also wished for the speedy rescue of all those affected, proper treatment for the injured, and safe rehabilitation of affected families.

Chairman of Autoways, Pratibha Secondary School and Govinda–Kalawati Foundation and veteran businessman Narayan Paudel said that standing with citizens suffering during a disaster is not merely an act of assistance but also a humanitarian duty and social responsibility.

He said that the institutions had come together during the difficult circumstances to support the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of affected families.

Prativa Secondary School’s Principal Kiran Sapkota said that the school had provided support as part of its institutional social responsibility, while teachers and staff had also contributed individually according to their capacity.

The institutions have expressed their commitment to continue providing support during the rehabilitation phase following immediate rescue and relief efforts. They have also stated that they will cooperate with the concerned authorities in rebuilding schools damaged by natural disasters and restoring a conducive educational environment for children.

With the message, ‘We Are Not Alone in This Time of Disaster; We Are All Together,’ the institutions have also called for advancing the spirit of cooperation, support and solidarity.
