KATHMANDU, Aug 30: Mohan Mainali’s book “Mukam Ranamaidan” has won the Madan Puraskar for 2080 BS.
The General Meeting of the Madan Puraskar Guthi, held on Friday, decided to award the Madan Puraskar to “Mukam Ranamaidan.”
Chairman of the Guthi, Kunda Dixit, said that it has also been decided to award the Jagadamba Shree 2080 to Prof Dr Yogendra Prasad Yadav.
The prize amount for the awards is Rs 400,000 each.
Madan Puraskar winner Mainali, primarily famous for his research-based non-fiction writing, is a journalist, writer, and documentary maker. “Mukam Ranamaidan” is a research book focused on the Anglo-Nepalese War, showcasing the bravery of Nepalis during the conflict. His notable books include Upallo Thalo (2020), Nadekheko Desh (2018), and Mantha Darayeko Guj (2015). His famous documentary is “Jogimaraka Jinudaharu”.
Jagadamba Shree winner Yadav is a linguist who served for a long time as a professor of language science in Tribhuvan University. He also served as an academician at the Nepal Academy.
