KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel has said the government is working on ensuring free treatment for brain hemorrhages.
At a programme on 63rd anniversary of Kanti Children’s Hospital on Monday, the Minister shared the ministry’s recent efforts, noting that the hospital has already started providing free treatment for child cancer.
Saying that he was aware of the state of physical infrastructure and human resource crisis in Kanti Children’s Hospital, Minister Paudel also pledged the best possible assistance from the ministry adding that the Hospital was providing quality service amid limited means and resources.
“This has earned the Hospital a higher level of trust,” the Health Minister shared.
On the occasion, Member of National Planning Commission Prof Dr RP Bichchha suggested that the Hospital should be developed into a Children’s Health Institute.
Chair of the Hospital Development Committee, Shreeram Subedi, described that the Hospital as a national treasure in the field of medicine.
Country’s only central and referral children’s hospital, Kanti Children’s Hospital was established in 2019 BS with a 50-beds facility.
Presently, the Hospital has 372 beds and provided health care services to more than 180,000 children in the last fiscal year.
