Kathmandu, October 12 — Nepal has been defeated by Uzbekistan in the final of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) U-20 Men’s Volleyball Championship.
The final, held today in Colombo, Sri Lanka, ended with a score of 3-1 in favor of Uzbekistan. Nepal won a thrilling first set 27-25 but then lost the next three sets consecutively. The scores for those sets were 25-10, 25-16, and 25-20, respectively.
In the final group stage match, Nepal secured their place in the final by defeating Turkmenistan. Throughout the group stage, Nepal also won against Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, and the Maldives, but lost to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The tournament, organized by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation, included participants from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Turkmenistan, the Maldives, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The competition began on September 20.
