Saugat Thapa: Dynamic & Young entrepreneur. And, the youngest candidate in the leadership race of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).

Saugat Thapa stands as the youngest candidate vying for leadership in the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry. While not new to the organization, he has already gained experience as a nominated member in the previous executive committee.

Thapa is competing for a member position in the 35th convention of the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is from Arjun Pokharel’s panel for the convention scheduled for September 13 and 14, with his candidacy number being 14.

During elections, the word “youth” is often used as a slogan, but leadership positions have rarely been entrusted to young individuals. Thapa, however, has embraced this very issue as his campaign theme. His slogan reads, “Youth in slogans many times, Youth in leadership this time.”

Speaking at a candidate introduction program at the Chamber on Saturday, Thapa emphasized the need for young leadership to elevate the image of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He stated that his candidacy aims to address the problems faced by young entrepreneurs.

Having gained experience in the previous executive committee led by Pawan Prajapati, Thapa said he has closely observed the numerous challenges faced by business people and the policy-related difficulties while dedicating his energy and time to his business.

Following in the footsteps of his father, Bindu Kumar Thapa, Saugat expressed his commitment to addressing the concerns of entrepreneurs through his involvement with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He described the organization his father served as sacred as a temple to him and pledged his dedication to service.

As his father became more active in politics, Saugat took on the responsibility of managing all their business affairs. He believes in teamwork, stating, “To accomplish big dreams, it’s only possible through collective effort. That’s why I stand before you today, not just as an individual, but with the trust of my team.”

Thapa emphasized that Arjun Pokharel’s team, under which he belong now, is not a factional group but a diverse team of energetic individuals from various age groups and experiences. He claims they have a clear vision and a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by industrialists and businesspeople.

Urging entrepreneurs to vote for the Pokharel panel, Thapa emphasized that what matters most is not who wins as an individual, but which team can achieve the most. He assured that he is mindful of advocating for the rights and interests of businesspeople based on their advice and suggestions.
