Three people were killed after a flood swept away a motorcycle and a scooter in Baglung district early Friday morning.
The victims, identified as Arjun Sapkota (23), Avisekh Regmi (22), and Kamal Sapkota (20), were washed away by the flood at around 11:45 pm. While two bodies were recovered during the night, the body of Kamal Sapkota was found on Friday morning.
“Their bodies were located 100 meters downstream from the flooded road,” said DSP Vijay Yadav. The bodies have been sent to Dhaulagiri Hospital for post-mortem.
Rescue efforts were delayed due to heavy rainfall that had been ongoing since 7 pm on Thursday, said Yadav.
The scooter and motorcycle were going towards Malika from Kudule at the time of the incident.
