The people’s strength changed every system in the country, yet their own lives remained unchanged. One king was replaced by hundreds of rulers. Administrative offices reached every village, but nothing substantial happened—nothing at all.

No matter the system, only the rulers, political leaders, their allies, and relatives benefitted. The general public felt no difference. Elderly parents, young children, and beloved spouses were still left behind as breadwinners were compelled to migrate to the Gulf in search of income.

Capturing this bitter reality of Nepali society, Suresh Baniya, a composer from Dhading, has brought the song “Sailo Naramailo”.

Suresh himself spent many years abroad, driven by necessity. Despite his deep love for Nepali folk music, he was forced to leave the country. However, unable to suppress his passion for folk music, he returned home and resumed his struggle.

Suresh’s younger brother, Rajkumar Baniya, also dedicated decades to Nepali folk music but eventually had to migrate abroad as well. After more than ten years of relentless effort, he, too, couldn’t sustain a life rooted in Nepal’s soil. Their personal and familial experiences inspired Suresh to create this heartfelt song.

Suresh is known for presenting socially relevant themes in a deeply touching manner, and his talent extends to musical arrangement.

The song, produced by Sanjeevani Digital, features Suresh Baniya’s voice, supported by Jay Devkota and Chhabi Bastakoti. The lyrics and melody of “Sailo Naramailo” are by Krishna Shatabdi, while the music video is equally remarkable, directed by Binod Bhandari.

With outstanding performances by Binod Bhandari, Anil Paudel, and Manisha Lama, the video is brought to life. Marubhumi Narayan handled the cinematography, and Manoj Karki edited the video.

The song has been released on Krishna Shatabdi’s YouTube channel, and Suresh remains hopeful that both the song and video will resonate with audiences.
