Nepal is abuzz with elections. While many youths are engaged in party conferences and door-to-door campaigns with candidates, another group can be found at Tribhuvan International Airport. These individuals are not discussing politics; their concern is their future and that of their families.

Some are leaving the country for education, but the larger group consists of those departing for the sake of their families and children’s future. This harsh reality has been poignantly captured by singer Rajkumar Baniya in his new song, “Tesai Hidna Lako Haina Deshai Chhadera”—a heartfelt depiction of the struggles and stories of Nepali youth forced to leave their homeland.

Rajkumar considers this song one of his most significant creations. He collaborated with his Dhading-born sister Laxmi Khadka and brother Suresh Baniya for this heartfelt project.

The lyrics and music are also Rajkumar’s own, with contributions from his brother Rajan Baniya in the lyrics and Suresh Baniya in the music. The musical arrangement, done by Shyamshwet Rasaili, is outstanding, supported by Kamal, Kiran, and Govinda from Prism Studio.

The video features notable artists like Gaurav Pahari and model Karishma Dhakal, along with appearances by Rajkumar himself, Deepak Pandey, Rajan Baniya, and Sumitra Karki Baniya. The story and direction of the video were handled by Rajkumar, making it an authentic expression of the struggles faced by many Nepalis leaving their country in search of a better life.
